The hardest week of work is the week after a vacation and, in my case, even more so since leaving Sea Master 214. Our annual trip to Garden City Beach is one we look forward to all year, and this year did not disappoint. The first thing you are greeted with as you walk through the front door of Sea Master 214 and into the kitchen is almost a floor-to-ceiling view of the ocean just beyond the balcony door. I swear there were times where it felt as though we were just floating on a boat in the middle of the ocean. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen had just about everything you need to cook some great meals. Having three showers was great. With a family of 6 coming back in from the beach, it can be a mad rush for the showers and, most importantly, hot water (which there is an abundance of). Oh, and the dual-head shower in the master is just what you need when you're knocking off the sand after a long day on the beach. Location is great. Less than a half-mile from the Garden City Pier (if you want to fish or catch the shoreline shots) and the Conch Cafe (for a bite to eat by the ocean), the condo is located only a five- to seven-minute drive from many grocery stores and other restaurants so you're never too far which is great when you want to spend all of your time on the beach. The internet is updated, in case you were wondering. Each unit has their own modem and is high speed so the internet issues that were reported from so long ago are no longer an issue. The pool area is nice though it was closed for the season while we were there (was there in October). There are plenty of chairs around the area and the pool is of decent size. I can imagine it's hopping during the summer months. The beach area was very clean and plenty of room. The condo is closer to the ocean than other places I've stayed in Garden City so it's not as far to the water, especially during high tide. There was plenty of room for everybody, and we generally were separated by no less than 15-20 yards between each group. The only knock against it was having to use a community washer and dryer. With four kids, clothes tend to pile up fast and that can get tricky in the evenings when everybody on the floor wants to use it. You also have to run around, trying to find a place where you can cash in for quarters (there's an arcade next to Sam's Corner). I would say it only knocks off a half star for the place, but it was by no means a dealbreaker. I will definitely consider staying here again. All in all, I'm happy. My family is happy, and we're already looking forward to our next trip.
