4th of July Grand Strand Events

Murrells Inlet Boat Parade

One of the most popular ways to celebrate Independence Day on the Grand Strand is the Murrells Inlet Boat Parade! The festively decorated parade boats cruise from Garden City Point, down the Murrells Inlet Markshwalk, to the Hot Fish Club. Parade spectators can watch along the Marshwalk which is also a perfect place to grab a waterfront bite to eat! 

Annual Salute from the Shore

If you are celebrating the 4th of July from the sandy shoreline, be on the lookout for the Annual Salute from the Shore! South Carolina’s Air National Guard’s 169th Fighter Wing conducts a fly-over along the Grand Strand. Flying F-16s and vintage military aircraft, beachgoers on the Grand Strand can watch and cheer on the aircrafts flying over the coastline!

Annual Myrtle Beach Independence Day 5k

Start off your Independence Day celebrations with a run! This annual 5k race takes place at Grand Park Lake at The Market Common. The race begins at 7:00 AM and participants can register up until 6:00 AM, the day of the race. Be sure to come in festive attire and participate in the costume contest!

Surfside Beach Golf Cart Parade

The town of Surfside Beach hosts an annual golf cart parade on the 4th of July! Whether you are cruising down Ocean Boulevard or watching the patriotic parade, this unique event is a staple of the summer holiday. The parade will begin at 1:00 PM, beginning at Melody Lane, down Ocean Boulevard, and finishing at 16th Avenue North.

4th of July Fireworks

Independence Day Fireworks can be found up and down the Grand Strand. Wherever you choose to watch a firework show, bring a blanket or a few beach chairs for a fun-filled end to your Independence Day celebrations!
